3 Secret Superfoods you already eat

Before you jump onto the latest superfood craze, look into your pantry to find some of nature’s secret superfoods. Here are 3 quietly modest superfoods that we're all familiar with:

Lemons. We all know that oranges and limes are rich in vitamin C, but so are lemons! One single lemon actually contains half of your daily intake of vitamin C which is important for muscle recovery and immunity. Make that lemon-avocado smash for breakfast, or squeeze some lemon juice over chicken or fish to boost your daily intake.

Celery. Celery contains potassium, fibre, vitamin K, folic acid, magnesium and sodium. These are essential electrolytes which are depleted during extended physical activity. Celery also contains vitamin A which is great for skin health and antioxidant protection. Use the stalks in dip or juice them for a nutrient- rich drink!

Potato and their Skins. Potatoes are often overlooked by the carb-conscious individual but they should definitely make a comeback into your diet! They are made of low-glycaemic complex carbohydrates which keep you fuller for longer. Their skins are packed with vitamin C, vitamin B, folates and various minerals. Potato skins are also rich in antioxidants.

With summer approaching, try and incorporate some of these great foods to keep you feeling your best.
